In a time when many designs are created to follow fleeting trends, the Tupi Dining Set was conceived with a deeper sense of performance, authenticity, and connection to the way people gather and live together.
Developed under the philosophy of Terra Preta, the dining set reflects an approach to design shaped by nature, cultural heritage, and contemporary living. Made up of the Tupi Dining Chair and the Tupi Dining Table, the collection shares a unified language inspired by the ancestral spirit of the Tupi people and their relationship with land, nature, and community.

Tupi Dining Set by Terra Preta
The name Tupi pays tribute to Indigenous cultures that have long valued craftsmanship, collective experience, and a close relationship with nature. These references are subtly integrated throughout the collection, particularly through the braided rope details inspired by traditional weaving techniques. Present across both the dining chair and the dining table, these handcrafted elements introduce texture and depth while reinforcing the collection’s organic character.

Indigenous Handcraft
One of the defining elements of the collection is the braided rope detail, which acts as a visual connection between the chair and the table. Beyond its aesthetic role, the weave carries a tactile presence that gives rhythm and softness to the overall composition.
Alongside the rope, subtle metallic details run through both pieces. The metal introduces structure and clarity, creating a contrast with the organic texture of the weave. Together, the two materials create balance, with each one reinforcing the identity of the other.
The Tupi Dining Set reflects Terra Preta’s approach to design through pieces created to last and to be lived with over time. Inspired by the strength and permanence found in nature, the collection combines carefully chosen materials with solid construction and finishes designed for everyday use.
Terra Preta’s identity is also present in the way cultural references are connected with contemporary design throughout the collection. Natural forms, woven details, and refined lines come together in a language that feels clear in character and adaptable to different interiors.
